ABOUT

At Creative Cove, we believe in the transformative power of art. Our creations are born from a deep need for emotional expression and connection. Based on beautiful Vancouver Island, our art is inspired by the serene coastal life and personal experiences. Each piece is unique, crafted with passion and care.

Our journey began with simple rock paintings and has since evolved into a diverse array of artworks that provoke thought and bring joy. We aim to create art that speaks to people, offering a glimpse into our world and a touch of the island's magic.

Join us on this creative journey and discover art that is both personal and profoundly impactful.

MY STORY

Welcome to Creative Cove, where art isn't just a passion—it's my lifeline.

As someone living with disabilities that cause extreme anxiety, expressing myself through conversation has often felt overwhelming. But art? Art speaks when I can’t. Painting has become my sanctuary—a way to regulate my emotions, tell my story, and connect with others without saying a word. Every brushstroke is a deep breath, a quiet moment of healing, and an invitation into my colorful world.

My journey hasn’t been easy. I’m in recovery from both an eating disorder and substance abuse, and creativity has been my anchor through it all. Art keeps me focused. It keeps me sober. It gives me purpose. There’s something powerful in creating pieces that are quirky, bold, and thought-provoking—work that makes people smile, pause, and feel seen.

I'm a full-time illustrator and the proud author of several children’s books, many of which are inspired by the vibrant imagination of my own family and the beauty of the island we call home. Storytelling through art allows me to connect with kids and families in magical, meaningful ways.

I’m a 39-year-old mother to three incredible humans, aged 20, 15, and 11. I’ve been married to my best friend for 20 years, and we live nestled in the coastal charm of Vancouver Island. While I was born in Cornwall, Ontario, and spent many years in Alberta, it was Vancouver Island that finally felt like home. The island’s lush forests, misty beaches, and peaceful energy continue to shape my art every day.

My love for creating started when I was young, though the spark fully reignited in 2022, just before Christmas. Armed with acrylic markers and a rock (yes—a rock!), I dove headfirst into art again, rediscovering that childlike joy. What began as doodles on stones evolved into full-fledged illustrations, book characters, commissions, and more.

With encouragement from friends, family, and a growing online community, I began selling my work—starting at local farmers’ markets and eventually accepting custom requests. Like many artists, I initially undervalued my pieces. But I’ve learned that time, heart, and healing go into every single creation—and that’s worth something.

So thank you. Whether you’re here to browse, connect, or simply peek into my artistic world, I hope Creative Cove brings a little joy, inspiration, and color to your day.

Let’s keep creating magic—one brushstroke at a time.
